Insect Thanksgiving

Hey friends,

Thank you to all of you who came to Insect Thanksgiving with me. We got to try many different dishes made with Insects. Eating insects is a great way to reduce our carbon footprint by eating lower on the food chain.

Hmong Thanksgiving

Thanks go out to Andrea and Yvette for joining me at Hmong Thanksgiving tonight! It was a ton of fun learning about the Hmong culture while getting some free food!

Pizza and a Movie

Thank you to everyone who came out to our mandatory wing meeting tonight. It was very nice to be able to sit down and enjoy some pizza and a movie after the meeting. Minions was funnier than I expected it to be, I hope you all had a good time.

Veteran’s Day Door Decs

Hello friends, so Veteran’s Day is this Friday. I hope you enjoy your new door decs that are Veteran’s Day ribbons. I encourage you to think about why we celebrate this day whenever you see your door decs. Many people of various ages/ethnicities/genders have fought and are currently fighting for our freedom, take time to think about this as well. I also have a program coming up on Friday where you can show your support for veterans.

Is Islam (In)Consistent with Democracy

Thank you to all of you who came to the faculty forum titled Is Islam (In)Consistent with Democracy? it was a wonderful talk given by Dr Shar Sappleton about Senegal, which is a democratic country that has a population that is primarily Muslim. She talked about how democratic societies can function and thrive when most of the population practices the Muslim faith.

Cake Walk

Hey friends, thank you to all of you  who came out to participate in the Southwest Hall Cakewalk. We had a wonderful time raising money for Family Advocates in Platteville. In total between the skee ball competition, regular rounds of Cakewalk, and the VIP rounds, we raised a total of 308 dollars to donate. This was a massively successful program and I am very proud that we were able to be a part of it.
