Monthly Archives: April 2017

Thank you to everyone who was able to come down to the space between the community room and the dumpsters to have a small bonfire with the Outdoor Adventure Club and Suite Forum. With finals quickly approaching, it was nice to be able to just hang out with everyone and just relax by the fire and make s’mores. Just a reminder that the suite forum is having a grill out this Sunday at 6:00pm  as a way to finish off our year. I hope to see you all there.

Blankets for Family Advocates

Thank you to everyone who was able to come to suite forum tonight and help us make some blankets for Family Advocates. We made a grand total of 10 blankets to donate to Family Advocates.

Resume Workshop

I hope you all enjoyed the resume vs CV program tonight. We had a member of The Academic and Career Advising Center stop by to give a presentation about resume and cover letter tips. She also talked about when to use a resume versus when a CV is necessary.

Lorax Viewing with Tips

Hey friends, today we got the chance to watch the Lorax and we learned some tips about how to be better to our environment.

Community Calendar

I hope the calendar in the hallway has been helpful for you all during this semester. This calendar is just a place for all publicity to go so you all can have a good idea of what is going on in our community. If you know of any programs going on outside of the building that you would like me to put up publicity for, let me know.

The Great Egg Hunt

Rumor has it that there was a bit of bunny related mischief afoot last night. There are 600 eggs littered around Southwest Hall. Many of them are filled with candy while some of them have some facts about recycling. Be on the lookout for a very special egg that is your key to win a prize basket behind our front desk! If you love searching for eggs and playing games, you can join me at Brockert Hall at 5:00pm tonight to participate in their annual Egg Fest.

Consent is Mandatory

April is sexual assault awareness month so I have made a bulletin board in our hallway about consent and how the lines of consent can be blurred with alcohol or other drugs. Always be sure to gain and confirm consent with your partner before engaging in any sexual activity.

Popsicle Door Decs

Well, the weather is finally heating up around here. With summer quickly approaching, I have made these door decs in the shape of popsicles. I hope they help to brighten up your doors and make you feel more at home here.

Organ Donor Bulletin Board

Have you ever wondered what happens to the organs of organ donors when they die? Have you ever wondered how you can become a living donor? If you answered yes to either of these  questions, I’ve got the bulletin board for you. The newest bulletin board in our elevator bay is all about organ donation. You can learn all about how to help other people using the organs that are inside your body.

Life Skills/Hacks

I hope you all learned a little something from tonight’s life skills/hacks program in the lobby. We had RAs talking about many things from Bullet Journaling to Laundry to Tieing a Tie. These skills are all essential in a successful life outside of college.
